How to bypass the lock screen on Onn Tablet – Forgot Password, PIN, Pattern – Locked Out – Hard Factory Reset without Password
You can see I’m locked out. I do not remember the Onn Tablet lock screen password.
To bypass the lock screen, we need to hard reset the device via recovery mode. Let’s turn off the Tab to enter recovery mode.
Long-press the power button and choose “Power off” as shown above.
When the Tablet turns off completely, press and hold the volume up & power keys to turn on the device.
This brings me to the “Select boot mode” screen.
To move up & down we need to use the volume UP key. Use the “volume UP key” to pick the “Recovery Mode” option.
Now, select this option by hitting the “Volume DOWN key” once.
Instead of Recovery mode, it brings me to the “No command” screen.
To bypass this page –
- Press and hold the power button.
- Keep it pressed and hit the volume up key once.
- Release both keys as soon as you see the “Android Recovery” screen.
We are now in “Recovery Mode”.
Use the volume rocker to move up and down. Select an option with the power button.
Move down from “Reboot system now” to “Wipe data/factory reset” with the volume down key.
Now, hit the power button once.
Again move down from “Cancel” to “Factory data reset” with the volume down key.
Click the power key to begin the factory reset.
After the data wipe, again press the power key once to reboot the Tab.
The factory reset will take a few minutes.
After the reset, it brings me to the “Hi There” screen of the setup wizard.
Let’s tap “START” to begin the setup.
The next screen is “Connect to Wifi”.
Connect your Tab to the internet.
After a while, it brings me to the “Copy apps & data” screen.
Choose “Don’t copy” to move ahead.
Again, I’m stuck on the “Verify Password” screen.
This time there is an alternate option – “Use my Google account instead”.
Sign in to your previously synced Google account and follow the on-screen prompts to reach the Onn Tab home screen.
In case, you do not remember the Google account details, follow the below trick to bypass the FRP lock –
