LG K92 Back Button, Home Button / How to Close apps

K92 is the LG’s first budget 5G smartphone. As of now, it’s only offered by AT&T, Cricket & US Cellular. In the near future, we may get the MetroPCS, Boost Mobile & Factory Unlocked variants of LG K92.

LG K92 5G comes with Android 10 out of the box. It uses Gestures as the default mode of Navigation. The home, back, and the recent apps buttons are missing.

Gestures Mode is not bad but it takes some time to get used to. The good thing is we can easily restore the old style of navigation i.e. a navigation bar with 3 Home touch buttons.

Let’s see how to get back the Home, Back, and the Recent apps buttons on K92 –

We need to use the “Settings app” to change the navigation settings.

To access the settings app, pull down the notification panel and hit the “Settings icon” at the top-right corner.

Now, we are in the Settings app.  Select “Display” to proceed further.

Choose the 3rd option on the Display page i.e. “Navigation bar”.

The current navigation style is “Gestures”.

Change it to “Buttons only” as shown in the above screenshot.

We have successfully restored the navigation bar with the Home touch buttons.

There is one more option on the Navigation bar page i.e. “Button combination”.  Let’s use this option to add more home touch buttons. We can also change the order of the buttons.

Let’s see how to do this –

We can have 2 additional home touch buttons in the form of “Notification” and “Screenshot”.

Drag the screenshot icon and place it on the navigation bar as depicted in the above screenshot.

Now, we have 4 home touch buttons. Tap the Screenshot button to capture the current screen.

I’ve captured a screenshot using this home touch button. The screenshot preview is visible at the bottom-right corner.

Likewise, we can drag the “Notification” button and place it on the navigation bar.

Now, there are 5 home touch buttons.

The Notification button is used as a shortcut to pull down/pull up the notification panel.

We can also change the order of the Home touch buttons.

Rearrange icons in the navigation bar by dragging. Let’s change the position of the back button.

If using your K92 with the right hand, the back button on the extreme right is more closer to the thumb. This arrangement feels more convenient.

LG K92 How to Close apps

To view the recent apps while using the Gestures mode on K92 –

Swipe up and hold the screen until you see the recent app tile.

The most recent app is the “Settings app”.

To close this app, we need to throw the app tile in the upward direction as shown in the above screenshot.

The Settings app is closed now. Swipe in the right direction to view all the running apps.

Hit “Clear all” to close all the apps at once.

Do you find it difficult to use gestures for closing apps?

Don’t worry we can also use the “Square recent apps button” to do the same.

Open the Settings app on your K92. You can pull down the notification panel and hit the Settings icon at the top-right corner.

On the Settings page, select “Display”.

Go to the “Navigation Bar” page and choose “Buttons only”.

Now, we can use the Square button to view the running apps.

Throw an app tile in the upward direction to close the respective app.

Hit “Clear all” to close all the running apps in one go.

Which way of navigation do you prefer on your LG K92? With or without the navigation bar?
