There is huge list of settings & options in the current-day Android smartphones, LG K40 included. Many a time we turn on something accidentally and find it difficult to turn it off. The examples can be talkback, color inversion, comfort view. etc.
Likewise, there are a few options that are pre-activated and we find them annoying. For example keyboard vibration, camera shutter sound, double-tap to wake up, etc.
In this post, we are going to find out how to turn off these options on LG K40 with the help of the below screenshots –
How to turn off mobile data on LG K40
To turn off mobile data on your LG K40, Open Settings < Network Tab and look for Mobile data.
Switch the toggle from on to the off position.
When the confirmation pop-up appears on the screen, tap “TURN OFF”.
Now the Mobile data is off.
There is a “Data” shortcut in the navigation panel as well.
Pull the navigation bar and look for “Data”. Tap on it to turn it off.
You can refer to the above screenshots.
The Data is off now.
LG K40 turn off keyboard vibration
Keyboard vibration can be very annoying. Moreover, it consumes more battery.
To turn off keyboard vibration we have to open the phone keyboard.
Let’s open the chrome browser to get access to the keyboard.
While the keyboard is open, tap the “Settings” icon as shown in the above screenshot.
Now, we are on the LG Keyboard page.
Select the 2nd last option i.e. “Additional settings”.
The first option on the Additional Settings page is “Vibrate on keypress”. Tap on it to disable Keyboard Vibration on your K40.
You can also disable the keyboard vibration via Settings.
Open Settings > General Tab > Language & keyboard.
Select “On-Screen keyboard”.
On the next page tap “LG Keyboard”.
Open “Additional Settings” on the LG Keyboard page
Now hit “Vibrate on keypress” to turn off keyboard vibration.
LG K40 turn off Talkback
When talkback is on we have to double-tap to select an option. Use 2 fingers for scrolling.
If you’ve accidentally turned on talkback on K40 you can disable it quite easily.
First of all, we have to press both the volume keys together for 3 seconds.
Now you’ll see a “Talkback shortcut” pop-up which gives us the option to “USE” this shortcut.
Double-tap “USE” and once again click the volume rocker keys for 3 seconds.
A confirmation message appears at the bottom of the screen which says “Accessibility Shortcut turned Talkback off”.
LG K40 turn off Amber Alerts
Open the “Messaging” app located on the Home Screen.
Tap the “3 dots” icon and select “Settings”.
We are now on the Settings page.
Choose the last option i.e. “Emergency alerts”.
Look for “AMBER alerts” and turn it off.
There are many more alert options on this page. You can enable or disable them as per your requirement.
LG K40 turn off Voice Control / Google Assistant
The dedicated Google Assistant key can be annoying for a few users. We can disable this button.
To turn off voice control on your K40, Go to Settings > General > Apps & notifications.
Now, select the 2nd last option i.e “Default apps”.
On the Default apps page, select the first option “Assist & voice input”.
To turn off the Google Assistant key we have to turn off the 3 options under “Assistant”.
Turn off the first option i.e. “Open Google Assistant”.
Now turn off “Talk to Google Assistant” & “Show visual snapshot”.
Now that the 3 options are off if you’ll press the Google Assistant button it won’t respond.
We have successfully disabled Voice Control / Google Assistant on LG K40.
LG K40 turn off Camera Shutter Sound
The artificial camera shutter sound can be very annoying. It’s better to disable it.
If you’ll look for an option in the camera settings to disable Shutter sound you won’t find it anywhere. To disable the camera sound we have to change the Sound Profile to Vibration or Silent Mode.
Press the Volume Down button on your K40. Keep it pressed until the vibration mode is activated.
You have to keep your phone in Vibration or silent mode to turn off the camera sound.
You can also use the navigation panel shortcut to do the same.
LG K40 turn off Double Tap / Knock On
Knock on or Double tap is a good feature to bring your phone from sleep in an instant. However, accidental wake up can be annoying especially if you don’t use a screen lock.
We can easily disable double tap on our K40.
Go to Settings > General Tab. Scroll down and look for “KnockON”.
Tap “KnockON” to turn it off.
Now that KnockON is off. Double-tap won’t work.
