When compared to LG K30, K40 looks an all-new phone from a higher segment. Be it the looks or features, improvement can be seen in every department. Even the K40 uses a more powerful processor as found in LG Stylo 5.
Let’s enumerate all the features present in LG K40 with the help of the below Q&A session –
1. Does LG K40 have NFC?
NFC is offered for the first time in an LG K Series Smartphone. Both K20 & K30 lacked this feature. You can use this feature for contactless payment and quick file transfer (Android Beam).
To turn on NFC, Go to Settings < Network Tab < NFC.
Tap “NFC” to enable it.
NFC stands for near field communication. The NFC area is at the back of the LG K40.
You have to hold the back of your K40 against the NFC terminal or mobile phone to pay or share respectively.
The above screenshot shows the LG K40 NFC Area.
Android Beam uses NFC to share files between mobile devices. To share files via Android Beam both the devices should have NFC.
You can also turn on NFC via the navigation panel shortcut on your K40. Pull down the navigation bar and tap NFC to enable it.
2. Does the LG K40 have IR Blaster?
LG K40 lacks IR Blaster. With infrared technology, we can use our phone as a remote control for Home Appliances.
3. Does LG K40 have Screen Mirroring / Miracast / Smart View?
I have noticed that Miracast is offered in phones running on Stock Vanilla Android (Motorola Phones) or High-End phones. This feature is missing from almost all budget LG Android Smartphones including K40.
In such a case we are left with 2 options to mirror our phone screen on the TV –
- You can mirror your K40 screen to the TV via Chromecast. As Chromecast uses Google Home App for mirroring, it doesn’t matter if you don’t have the Cast option on your phone.
- In case you have Roku, Fire TV stick, or some Android Smart TV, then you can use a 3rd party app for Screen Casting.
