The Google account verification is required when you reset the phone using the volume down + power keys via recovery mode. To complete the device setup you either need the screen lock credentials or the previously synced Google account to reach the LG K40 home screen.

In this post, we are going to use the latest and easiest 2022 method to get past the Google lock on LG K40 running on Android 9 Pie –

I forgot my LG K40 lock screen PIN so I had to reset the device using the volume down & power keys.

Now, the phone is reset to factory settings and I’ve landed on the “Welcome” page of the setup wizard.

Let’s click the “Forward button” to move ahead.

In the next step, we are going to connect our device to the internet using Wifi or Mobile Data.

It’s checking for updates. This process takes a minute or two.

The next screen is “Copy apps & data”. Hit “Don’t copy” to move ahead.

Now, I’ve reached the screen lock PIN verification screen. To get past this screen we either need to verify using the correct PIN or the previously synced Google account.

I don’t remember the PIN code or the Google account.

Let’s use the latest 2022 hack to bypass the FRP lock on LG K40 Android 9 –

First of all, we need a locked SIM card.

You can use any phone and any SIM card for this task.

On an LG Phone to lock the SIM card open the Settings app and then Go to “Lock Screen & Security”.

Now, choose “Set up SIM Card lock” > “Lock SIM Card”.

You need to enter the default PIN code of the SIM Card. It varies from carrier to carrier. You can search it in Google.

Mine is the MetroPCS SIM and it’s default SIM PIN is 1234

Enter the code and hit “OK”.

The SIM Card lock is now enabled. We are going to insert this locked SIM in LG K40.

Use a SIM ejector tool and place the SIM card in its respective slot.

Now, check your K40 screen. It’s asking for the SIM PIN.

Remove the SIM tray. We just need the “Not signed in” notification on the screen.

Swipe down the screen starting from “Not signed in” towards the bottom. You can follow the arrow in the above screenshot.

A few shortcut icons will appear on the top. Long-press the “Bluetooth icon”.

Turn on Bluetooth on your LG K40 as shown above.

Now, use another phone to send an image file to LG K40 via Bluetooth

NOTE: You can also use a Bluetooth headset or Earbud. Please follow the below link for the alternate method –

I’m using LG Solo L423DL to send a picture via Bluetooth to LG K40. You can use any phone for this task.

Let’s open the Gallery app to send a picture to LG K40 via Bluetooth.

Hit the “Share icon” and choose “Bluetooth” as the sharing medium.

After turning on Bluetooth I can see LG K40 as the available Bluetooth device.

Send this photo to LG K40 via Bluetooth as shown above.

Now, check your LG K40 screen.

Hit “ACCEPT” to receive the Bluetooth file.

Tap the “3 dots” icon at the top-right corner and choose “Received Files”.

Tap the screenshot file as shown above.

Now, 2 apps are listed to open this image file – “Gallery” and “Photos”.

Double-click the “Photos” app to open this file.

Tap “ALLOW” when prompted as shown above.

Now, hit the “Share icon” and choose “Email” as the sharing medium.

Again click “ALLOW” when prompted.

We are now on the “Select email provider” page.

Choose the first option – “Microsoft Exchange”.

Now, enter any email id in the “EMAIL ADDRESS” field.

Click on the “MANUAL SETUP” option.

The following page is “Server Settings”. Scroll down to the bottom and pick the last option to “Add” a client certificate.

Hit “CHANGE” to accept the request.

Now, we have reached the “Select Screen Lock” page.

Set up a new Pattern, PIN, or Password to replace the old lock screen PIN.

I’ve picked the first option i.e. “Pattern”.

Hit “NEXT” on the “Secure start-up” screen.

Now, draw an easy pattern L and click “NEXT”.

Draw the same pattern one more time to confirm.

We have successfully changed the LG K40 screen lock.

Now, we can go back and use this new Pattern lock to bypass the Google account.

Tap the back button multiple times to reach the first page.

Hit the forward button on the Welcome screen.

Click “DON’T COPY” on the “Copy apps & data” screen.

It skipped the screen lock verification page and directly took me to the “Google – Verify your account” screen. We cannot bypass the Google lock without the “Draw your Pattern” screen.

We have to hard reset the device to restore that page.

Power off your LG K40 as shown above.

Now, press & hold the volume down + power button.

As soon as the LG K40 logo appears, release only the Power button for a moment and hold it again. Do not release the volume down key.

Keep pressing both the keys until you enter the Recovery Mode.

The Factory Data Reset screen is the Recovery Mode.

Use the volume rocker and power keys to reset your K40 device.

Move down from No to Yes with the volume key. Then select “Yes” with the power button.

Again go down from No to Yes and initiate the factory data reset with the power button.

After the reset, I’ve landed on the “Welcome” page.

Tap the forward button to proceed.

Now, connect your device to the internet.

Hit “DON’T COPY” when you reach the “Copy apps & data” screen.

This time we get the “Draw your Pattern” screen.

Verify with the Pattern lock we set earlier i.e. L

We have successfully bypassed the Google lock on LG K40.

Use the “Skip” option to get past the Google account setup.

Hit “MORE” on the Google Services screen.

“ACCEPT” the Google services terms and conditions.

Now, tick all the “I agree” checkboxes on the “Legal Documents” page and tap “DONE” to complete the setup wizard.

We have successfully landed on the LG K40 home screen thus bypassing the Google account verification.
