Are you locked out on your LG K40 due to a forgotten pin, pattern, or password? Do you wish to bypass the lock screen without reset? Let’s check out our options.
In this troubleshooting guide, we are going to learn how to bypass LG K40 lock screen with the help of the below video & screenshots –
LG K40 Lock Screen Bypass – Forgot PIN, Pattern, Password – Locked Out
The above screenshot shows the LG K40 Pattern Lock Screen. I failed to draw the correct pattern lock.
In the earlier versions of Android, we use to get a Forgot Password option after a few failed attempts. That way we could recover our phone by signing-in to the Google account.
I tried to do that same on my LG K40.
To my dismay, I never got any other option to recover my phone. It kept on asking to draw the correct pattern.
The wait time kept on increasing after every few failed attempts.
I tried up to 100 times but still no luck.
This shows that we cannot bypass the lock screen on LG K40 without reset. Now our only option left is to hard reset the phone.
Let’s “Power off” our K40 and reset it using the Volume Down & Power button combination.
It doesn’t let us to even power off before unlocking the screen.
We cannot wait for the battery to dry down. Let’s reset it by restarting the phone.
Long-Press the power button and select “Power off and restart”.
During the restart, when the phone turns off and the screen turns black, hold the volume down & power button as shown above.
When the phone vibrates (or when LG K40 appears on the screen), release the power key and hold it again. Don’t release the volume down button.
If done correctly, you must in the LG K40 recovery mode.
The above factory data reset screen is the LG K40 recovery mode.
On this screen, the volume rocker can be used to move up and down. Use the power key to select an option.
We have to move from “No (Exit)” to “Yes” using the volume down button. Click the power button to confirm this selection.
Again move down from “No (Exit)” to “Yes” and press the power button to initiate the factory reset process.
Now the phone is being erased. Wait for the process to complete.
Now, we are on the “Welcome” screen of the setup wizard.
Move ahead using the forward arrow.
Connect to your Wifi internet connection and proceed further.
This brings us again to a “Draw Pattern” screen. Here we get one more option. We can also use the Google Account to get past this screen.
Sign in with the last synced Google Account on this device. Once you’re signed in, follow the on-screen prompts to finish the setup wizard to land on the LG K40 home screen.
If you don’t remember the Google Sign-in details then keep following the further steps to bypass the Google Verification Screen.
First of all, power off your LG K40.
Now, get hold of another phone to add a SIM Card lock.
I’m using LG K30 MetroPCS for this task.
If using and LG Android phone, Go to Settings > Lock Screen & Security < Set up SIM card lock.
Tap “Lock SIM Card”. It’ll ask for the current PIN. The default MetroPCS SIM lock pin is 1234
Enter the SIM Card pin and hit “OK”.
We have locked our SIM Card with the PIN 1234.
In the next step, we are going to install this locked SIM on our LG K40.
Insert the locked SIM using a SIM ejector tool as per the above instructions.
Now turn on your LG K40.
As soon as it boots up, it’ll ask for the SIM PIN code.
Enter the code 1234 and click the “tick” icon.
Now we get an “Android Setup Not signed in” notification on the screen.
We have to unlock the screen by swiping from this “Not signed in” notification towards the bottom of the screen. Follow the arrow as marked in the above screenshot.
Make sure not to unlock the screen by swiping in the upward direction.
If done in the correct manner, a notification panel would be visible on the top of the screen.
Long press the “Bluetooth” option.
Turn on Bluetooth.
We have to send an image file from another device to LG K40.
Move on to Next Page (Page 2)
Thank you. This was so helpful, I did it by myself
Gracias. por fin pude desbloquear mi telefono
It keeps saying Gmail stopped working on the share image part
If Gmail fails, choose “Email”. In the next step select the email provider as “Microsoft Exchange”.
For a detailed explanation with the screenshot, please refer to the below post (In this I’ve used Email instead of Gmail) –
