At the time of their release (May 2018), there was a huge price difference between LG K30 & Moto G6 which has diminished over the period of time. So, even though Moto G6 is far more superior to K30 and falls in the high-end segment you can grab it by paying just a little bit extra.

In this post, we’re going to compare LG K30, Moto G6 & the newly released Moto G7 power. In this comparison, we’ve picked a factory unlocked version of Moto G6 Xt1925-6 & MetroPCS / T-Mobile variant of LG K30 (LM-X410MK/X410TK) & Moto G7 Power (XT1955-5).

Moto G7 Power is the latest among the 3. While K30 & Moto G6 came in May 2018, G7 power released in March 2019.

Even though Moto G6 is factory unlocked & more premium than G7 Power it sells for a lesser price being a year older.

Moto G6 is more compact and thinner than the other two. Its made up of metal and glass. The front and the back are glass and the frame is made up of aluminum. This gives Moto G6 a more premium look.

K30 comes with a metal back and a plastic frame, while Moto G7 power is made up of polymer glass.

Moto G6 and G7 Power have a water-repellent design. Both of these are Splash resistant. No such protection from water is available on K30.

The display size, resolution and aspect ratio of all 3 phones is different.

Moto G7 Power being the latest among the 3 comes with a notched display with a 19:9 aspect ratio.  G7 Power has an aspect ratio of 18:9 and K30 has the old form factor with an aspect ratio of 16:9.

Moto G7 Power has the biggest 6.2 inches display. Then comes G6 with a 5.7-inch screen and K30 with the smallest 5.3-inch screen.

Even though G7 Power comes with a bigger screen than G6, it has a lower screen resolution. While G6 has a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 Pixels (Full HD Plus), G7 power has an HD Plus display with a resolution of 1570 x 720. Being smaller in size, the screen resolution of K30 is 1280 x 720 pixels.

The Display on Moto G6 and G7 Power is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Both front and Back Glass of Moto G6 is made up of Gorilla Glass 3.  K30 Glass is more prone to damage so it should be used with a Screen Guard.

As Moto G6 is Factory Unlocked it’s compatible with all the major US carriers such as Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint & Boost Mobile. LG K30 is locked to T-Mobile / MetroPCS. It can be unlocked for other GSM networks.

Being MetroPCS / T-Mobile phone, G7 Power and K30 support Wi-Fi calling which is missing on Moto G6.

Being older, Moto G6 falls behind G7 power in hardware.  While both have a 1.8 GHz Octa-Core processor, G7 Power has a more powerful Snapdragon 632 chipset as opposed to Snapdragon 450 on Moto G6. LG K30 is the weakest in comparison with 1.4 GHz Quad-Core CPU & Snapdragon 425 chipset.

The Antutu Benchmark scores tell the same story. Moto G7 Power leads the race with a benchmark score of 105623. The next comes G6 with a score of 70124 and K30 gets the lowest antutu score of 38303.

LG K30 has only 2 GB RAM. Moto G7 Power has 3 GB RAM & G6 comes in 3 GB & 4GB variants.

Being a Google phone, Moto G6 / G7 Power comes with Stock Vanilla Android and thus receive android updates more frequently. Currently, both G6 & G7 Power have the latest Android Pie 9.0 Firmware. K30 is still running on Android Oreo 8.1 Firmware.

The audio quality through the loudspeaker is better on Motorola phones, thanks to the front-ported speaker which doubles as an earpiece.

Moto G6 has 3 microphones for stereo audio recording. G7 Power has 2 mics while K30 comes with a single mic.

With headphones plugged in, LG K30 can produce a 3D Virtual Surround sound effect using DTS:X audio technology. Moto G6 uses Dolby Audio for a better sound experience.

Among the 3, only G6 has a secondary (depth sensor) camera to produce a blurred background in Portrait Mode.

G6 rear camera lacks PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus), which is present on both G7 Power as well as K30.

G6 rear camera uses the rare Dual LED flash while K30 & G7 Power have a Single LED flash.

G7 Power can produce up to 4K videos at 30 fps. G6 rear camera can record videos up to 1080p @ 60fps. K30 can record videos with maximum video resolution of 1080p @ 30 fps.

G7 Power camera offers Slow Motion, Time Lapse, Hyper Lapse, Manual Mode & Video Stabilization. G6 camera comes with Slow motion, Time Lapse & Manual mode. None of these features are present on LG K30.

G6 & G7 Power comes with an 8 MP front-facing camera which is just 5 MP on LG K30.

Out of the 3, only Moto G7 Power has a Selfie Flash.

The charging port on K30 is older Micro USB 2.0, while both G6 & G7 Power have USB Type-C charging port.

All 3 phones have 32 GB of internal storage, but G6 also comes in a 64GB variant with 4GB RAM.

I couldn’t find an option to Cast / Mirror screen on LG K30. The Casting option is present in both G6 & G7 Power.

As the name suggests, Moto G7 Power has the highest capacity battery among the 3. It’s 5000 mAh battery coupled with fast charging will keep you away from the charger most of the time.

Even though G6 & K30 have a battery of near about the same capacity, K30 loses here with the lack of Fast Charging support.
