LG K30 Factory Reset without password/hard reset buttons lmx410

What are your options when you’re locked out on LG K30 and you don’t remember the correct password/pin/pattern?

To bypass the lock screen you’ll try to hard reset your K30 via recovery mode. However, we need to power off the phone to enter recovery mode. On K30, it doesn’t let you turn off the phone until you enter the correct screen lock PIN/Pattern/Password.

The solution to this problem is a force restart. Let’s see how to factory reset LG K3o without the password as follows –

How to unlock LG K30 Forgot Password/PIN/Pattern – Locked Out – K30 2019 lmx320 lmx410

I’m stuck on the LG K30 lock screen and don’t remember the correct password.

To get past this screen, we need to hard reset the phone via recovery mode. Let’s turn off the phone to enter recovery mode.

It’s not letting me power off my K30 without unlocking the screen. There’s an error on the screen – “Unlock the phone to power off”.

Our next option is to restart the phone.

During the restart, we are going to use the volume down + power keys to enter recovery mode.

Long-press the power button and choose “Power off and restart” as shown above.

Now, immediately press both the volume down & power buttons.

During the reboot, when the LG logo shows up, release the power key for a moment and hold it again. Do not leave the volume down button.

Now, keep holding both the keys to enter Recovery Mode.

This factory data reset screen is Recovery Mode. It’s used to hard reset the phone when locked out.

In this mode, the touchscreen does not work.

We are going to use the volume rocker and power buttons.

Move down from “No(Exit)” to “Yes” with the volume down button. Now, click the power key once.

Again move down from No to Yes and click the power button to initiate the factory reset process.

We need to wait for a few minutes for the process to complete.

Afterward, it brings us to the Welcome page.

Tap the forward button to proceed.

Now, connect your K30 to a Wifi network.

It’s now checking for updates. This process takes a minute or two.

The next page is “Copy apps & data”. Choose “DON’T COPY” to move ahead.

Now, we are on the screen lock verification page. I don’t remember the lock screen password. I’ll choose the alternate option – “USE MY GOOGLE ACCOUNT INSTEAD”.

This time we are on the “Verify your account” screen. It’s asking for the last synced Google account on this device.

Enter your Google account credentials and follow the on-screen prompts to reach the LG K30 home screen.

In case, you don’t remember the Google account, then follow the below hack to bypass the FRP lock as follows –

How to bypass Google Account on LG K30 without computer 2021 Android 9 & 8.1 lmx410 lmx320

To bypass the Google account, we need a locked SIM card.

You need another phone to lock a SIM.

I’m using LG Aristo 2 & MetroPCS SIM for this task.

If you’re using an LG phone –

Open the Settings app and go to “Lock Screen & Security”.

Now, choose “Set up SIM Card” & turn on “Lock SIM Card” as shown above.

It’s asking for the current PIN. The default MetroPCS SIM PIN is 1234

Enter the PIN and tap “OK”.

The SIM card lock is enabled.

Now, we are going to insert this locked SIM in LG K30.

Use a SIM ejector tool to remove the LG K30 SIM tray.

Now, place the locked SIM in its respective slot. You can refer to the above illustration.

Check your LG K30 screen.

It’s asking for the SIM PIN.

Enter the PIN 1234 and tap the tick icon.

Now, there is a “Not signed in” notification on the screen.

We need to swipe down the screen starting from “Not signed in” towards the bottom. You can follow the arrow in the above screenshot.

A few quick access icons appear on the top.

Long-press the Bluetooth icon as shown above.

Now, we are on the Bluetooth page.

Turn on Bluetooth and get hold of a Bluetooth headset or Earbud.

My earbud is PTron Bassbuds Urban.

Pair the Bluetooth device with your phone.

Now, tap the touch area of the earbud/call button of your Bluetooth headset for 2 seconds and release it.

This will launch Google assistant on your K30.

Tap the mic icon and say the term email

A “G Search” option shows up at the bottom-right corner. Tap on it.

Now, erase “email” from the search bar & type email once again.

Choose the “Email app with icon” as shown above.

Now, select the Email provider as “Microsoft Exchange”.

On the following screen, enter any email id and choose the “MANUAL SETUP” option.

This will bring you to the Server Settings screen.

Scroll down and use the last option to “Add” a Client Certificate.

An Attention pop-up shows up on the screen. Choose “CHANGE” to accept the request.

This will bring you to the Select Screen Lock page.

We are going to use this screen to add a new PIN, Pattern, or Password.

Let’s choose the Pattern option.

On the Secure start-up page, select the option “Require pattern to turn on phone”  and click “NEXT”.

Now, add an easy-to-remember pattern. I’ve drawn the Pattern L

Draw the Pattern once again and tap “CONFIRM”.

The screen lock has been changed.

Let’s use this new pattern to bypass the Google account.

Go back to the first page using the back button.

We are once again on the welcome screen. Click the forward button to proceed.

Choose “Don’t copy” on the “Copy apps & data” screen.

It directly brings us to the “Verify your account” page. The “Draw your Pattern” screen is missing. We need that page to bypass the Google account.

To restore the pattern lock page, we need to hard reset the phone once again via recovery mode.

Power off your K30. Long-press the power button and choose “POWER OFF”.

Wait for the phone to turn off.

Now, press the volume down + power button to turn on the phone.

When the LG logo appears on the screen, release only the power button for a moment and hold it again.

Now, keep holding both the keys to enter recovery mode.

We are in recovery mode.

Go down from No to Yes and tap the power button once.

Again go down from No to Yes and click the power key to reset your K30 device.

After the reset, we have reached the SIM PIN verification page. Enter the PIN 1234 and unlock the screen.

Tap the forward button to begin the device setup.

Choose “DON’T COPY” on the following screen.

This time we get the “Draw your Pattern” screen.

Verify with the pattern L

The pattern verification is successful. We have bypassed the Google account verification.

Use the “Skip” option to bypass the google account sign-in.

Now, we are on the Google services page. Tap “MORE” to proceed.

Accept the Google services terms and conditions.

Tick the “I agree” checkboxes and tap “DONE” to complete the setup wizard.

We have successfully reached the LG K30 home screen by doing a factory reset without the screen lock password.
