LG K20 Plus MP260 Stock ROM KDZ Download & Firmware Update Tutorial

In this tutorial, we are going to restore a bricked LG K20 Plus MetroPCS back to the working state. In this troubleshooting, we’ve to flash the K20 Plus stock firmware (kdz) using LGUP flashing tool.

You can also use this tutorial to unroot your phone back to the factory state for warranty reasons or just to update your K20 plus android firmware to mp26010v.

The files needed to flash the stock firmware with their respective download links are –

1. LG K20 Plus USB Driver (Serial Port Driver installation for flashing)

Now that you’ve downloaded the necessary files, let’s proceed with the tutorial –

How to Unbrick / Flash LG K20 Plus

Step 1: Installing the necessary programs on our computer

First of all, we’re going to install all the necessary programs on our computer

 

Lets’ start with LGMobileDriver v4.2 installation

Double click on the setup file to start the installation. You need to install LG USB driver only if it’s not already installed on your computer.

 

 

Finish the driver installation by following the InstallShield wizard for LG Mobile Driver.

Now install the LGUP flashing tool by clicking on the setup file.

Complete the LGUP installation but don’t run the program yet.

Step 2: Connecting K20 Plus to PC in Download Mode & installing the necessary drivers

 

The next step is to boot our K20 Plus in Download Mode

To enter Download Mode –

Turn off the phone

Connect one end of the USB data cable to your K20 Plus

Press the Volume UP key as shown above

Keep the Volume UP button pressed & connect the other end of the USB cable to your PC.

If done correctly, the phone will boot into download mode.

“Download Mode” will flash for few seconds then it’ll change to “Firmware Update” as shown above.

Now, wait for the LG K20 Plus USB Modem & Serial Port driver to install.

We’re expecting LGE AndroidNet USB Modem & LGE AndroidNet Serial Port drivers to install successfully.

Step 3: Loading LGUP with the help of Uppercut & Flashing the Stock Firmware

After the successful driver installation, we would launch LGUP flashing software with the help of Uppercut.

If you would directly run LGUP, it won’t detect the connected phone.

Uppercut aids in the detection of the connected phone in download mode.

Thanks to autoprime, there’s no need to search for the K20 Plus DLL file anymore.

Open the Uppercut folder, and run the program by clicking on the exe file.
