Most of the time the issue is related to incorrect APN settings when you’re able to make calls but Mobile data is not working. However, before messing with the APN settings you should make sure –
- You have a working data plan
- Mobile Data is ON
- Airplane Mode is OFF
- The network coverage is good (at least 2 signal bars)
- Data limit is not set
If you’ve cross-checked the above options and Mobile Data is still not working then follow the below troubleshooting steps one by one –
Troubleshooting Step 1: Soft Reset – LG K20 Plus data not working fix
The most basic troubleshooting step should always be a Soft reset. It works most of the time.
A soft reset is nothing but a normal restart which can be done by long-pressing the power button and selecting “Power off and restart” as shown above.
If data is still not working, then try to reset network settings on your K20 Plus.
Troubleshooting Step 2: Network Settings Reset
To reset Network settings Go to Settings < Backup & reset < Network settings reset and open it.
In this step, we’re resetting all the network-related settings including Bluetooth & Wifi Settings.
Tap “RESET SETTINGS” as per the screenshots above. You’ll see a confirmation pop-up “Network settings have been reset”.
If still, you’re unable to connect to the internet using Mobile data, then we need to cross-check the APN settings.
Troubleshooting Step 3: Change LG K20 APN Settings – T Mobile, AT&T, MetroPCS, etc.
There are 3 variants of LG K20 based on different carriers. The MetroPCS/T Mobile variant is K20 Plus, the one for Verizon is K20 v and the AT&T variant is LG K20.
Choose the LG K20 APN settings based on your respective carrier –
AT&T APN Settings LG K20 Plus
You can use K20 as well as K20 Plus on the AT&T network unless you’ve unlocked your MetroPCS / T-Mobile K20 Plus. Even after unlocking, data & MMS won’t work unless you enter the correct AT&T APN Settings.
So, Let’s Add AT&T APN settings to K20 Plus –
Go to Settings < Networks Tab < More < Mobile networks and open it.
Now Select “Access Point Names” to open it
Tap the “3 dots” icon at the right-hand top and select “Add APN” as shown above.
Now enter the AT&T settings as per the above screenshots –
AT&T APN Settings are –

Troubleshooting Step 4: Call your Carrier
If all the above troubleshooting steps have failed to restore your Mobile Data connectivity, then the last resort should be calling your service provider.
You can also try to do a factory data reset. But before wiping your internal storage, it’s better to make sure that whether the issue is at your end or whether it’s a network-related issue that can only be resolved by your carrier.
Please share your outcome. Feedbacks and suggestions are welcome.
