In this post, we are going to install and test all the custom ROMs available for LG K20 Plus.
We can even get Android Oreo 8.1 on our K20 Plus by flashing Lineage OS 15.1. The various custom ROMs made available for K20 Plus by travisholt92@xda are Lineage OS 14.1, Lineage OS 15.1, AICP (Android Ice Cold Project), Incipient OS & Resurrection Remix.
The ROMs are in the form of a flashable zip file that needs to be flashed using TWRP custom recovery. They are available in 32-bit as well as 64-bit. You need to flash 32-bit or 64-bit TWRP accordingly.
You need to match the Google Apps package accordingly as well.
Download & Flash LG K20 Plus Custom ROMs – Lineage OS, AICP, RR & Incipient OS
LG K20 Plus Lineage OS 15.1 Android Oreo 8.1.0 Custom ROM (64-bit)
The files needed to flash Lineage OS 15.1 Custom ROM on LG K20 Plus are –
1.LG Mobile Driver v4.4.2.exe
2.Minimal ADB & Fastboot.exe
3.TWRP 64-bit recovery.img
4.No-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0.zip
5.Lineage-15.1-20190625-UNOFFICIAL-lv517.zip
6.Google Apps Package Installer.zip
Go to opegapps.org and Choose Platform as “ARM64” Android as “8.1” and Variant as per your requirement.
This Google Apps package would work only for Lineage OS 15.1 Custom ROM which is a 64-bit Oreo ROM.

There are 2 launcher options in Lineage OS, Trebuchet & Pixel launcher.
The above launcher is Trebuchet Launcher. Let’s Go to Settings < System < About Phone to Check the Android Version
It shows the Android Version as 8.1.0 and the Lineage OS version is 15.1
With Lineage OS we get the “CAST “option for screen mirroring on LG K20 Plus without Chromecast which is missing in the stock ROM.
If you feel that Lineage OS 15.1 is not very stable on K20 Plus, you can try the Nougat-based Lineage OS 14.1 custom ROM. Its available in both 32 & 64 bit. Let’s check it out

As we’re flashing a 32-bit ROM based on Android Nougat 7.1.2. We have to download the package by selecting Platform as “ARM”, Android as “7.1” and variant as per the requirement. Refer to the above screenshot.

Similar to Lineage OS 15.1, 14.1 also comes with Trebuchet & Pixel Launcher.
I’ve chosen the Pixel Launcher.
Going to Settings < About Phone < Phone Status we can find the Android version which is 7.1.2 & Lineage OS version is 14.1

LG K20 Plus Incipient OS Nougat 7.1.2 Custom ROM (64-bit)
Incipient OS 64-bit can be flashed on K20 Plus using below files

2.Google Apps Package ARM64 7.1 .zip
Incipient OS has a different Launcher than the rest. It comes with Pixel & Lean launcher.
I’ve chosen the Lean Launcher at first.
There are lots of customisations options in Incipients OS. Check out the above screenshots.
Lean Settings has got various options that are missing in other LG K20 Plus custom ROMs.
Now I’ve chosen the Pixel Launcher
The Incipient OS version of this 64-bit Custom ROM is 14.1 and the Android version is 7.1.2

is there an actual youtube that shows how to do this? also will it do any good being tracfone removed it from their service and now i have it on metro pcs and they may take it away? or will this set the phone up for 4g 5g and lte service for metro pcs? thanks
