After the recent LG V40 Thinq security update, the old FRP bypass method no longer works. After adding a new screen lock during the FRP bypass the screen lock verification page doesn’t show up, it directly takes you to Google verification. Let’s see how to fix this issue.
In this post, we are going to use the latest and easiest September 2021 Google bypass hack to reach the LG V40 home screen.
In a few minutes, you’ll be able to use your phone once again. So, let’s begin the troubleshooting –
After doing a factory reset using the volume down & power keys, my V40 is on the “Welcome” screen. This is the first page of the setup wizard.
Let’s use the forward button to complete the setup.
What are your options when you’re locked out on your LG V40/V50 Thinq? You would like to recover your phone without doing a reset. No one wants to lose precious internal storage data including photos, videos, apps & other useful documents.
However, the bad news is we cannot bypass the V40/V50 without a factory reset. To restore your phone back to its working state, you need to put it into recovery mode & hard reset the phone.
Let’s see how to bypass the V40/V50 Thinq lock screen if you’ve forgotten the PIN, Pattern, or Password –
How to bypass lock screen on LG V40/V50 Thinq LM-V405 V450
You can see I’m locked out on my LG V40 Thinq. I don’t remember the screen lock password.
To do a factory reset, we need to power off the phone and put it into recovery mode.
It’s not letting me turn off the phone without unlocking the screen. It shows the error – “Unlock the phone to power off”.
So now, we are going to force restart the phone and boot it into recovery mode. Let’s see how to do this –
Press & hold the volume down & power keys until the phone restarts.
During the restart, as soon as “LG V40 Thinq/LG V50 Thinq” appears on the screen, release the power button and hold it again (Do not release the volume down key).
Now, keep holding both the keys until you reach the “Factory Data Reset” page.
We are now in recovery mode. In this mode, we need to use the volume rocker and power keys for navigation.
To reset the phone, move down from “No(Exit)” to “Yes” with the volume down key and hit the power button once.
Again move down from “No (Exit)” to “Yes” and press the Power button to begin the factory data reset.
The phone is being erased. We need to wait for a few minutes to reach the “Welcome” page.
Now, we need to complete the setup wizard to reach the Home Screen.
On the Welcome screen, click the “Forward button” to move ahead.
Hit “Next” on the “New Second Screen” page.
Now, we need to connect to the internet using Wifi or Mobile Data.
It’s checking for updates we need to wait for a while.
Choose “Don’t copy” on the “Copy apps & data” page.
This brings us to the Google Verification screen.
When we hard reset the phone via the recovery mode, we need to verify with the previously synced Google account on this particular device.
Enter your Google account credentials & finish the setup wizard to reach the V40/V50 home screen.
In case, you don’t remember the Google account details, follow the below hack to bypass the FRP lock/Google Verification on V40/V50 –

We can add a PIN, Pattern, or Password.
Let’s set up an easy-to-remember PIN.
Choose “No, Thanks” on the Secure Startup page and click “Next”.
I’ve added 1234 as the new PIN.
Let’s confirm this PIN.
A confirmation text flashes on the screen – “Screen lock has been changed”.
Now, let’s go back and use this new PIN to bypass the lock screen.
Use the back button and keep going back until you reach the “Welcome” screen.
We have reached the “Welcome” page.
Hit the “Forward button” to move ahead.
Click “Next” on the “New Second Screen” page.
Hit “Next” on the internet connection page.
Choose “Don’t copy” on the next page.
Once again we are on the screen lock verification page.
Verify with the PIN 1234 we added in the last step.
We have successfully verified the PIN. We get a skip option on the Google account setup page.
Hit “Skip” to move ahead. You may also add a Google account. The last synced account is not required.
Now, accept the Google services terms and conditions.
Follow the on-screen prompts to keep moving ahead.
Tap “NEXT” to proceed further.
Skip the AT&T account setup. We can do it later.
Finally, on the legal documents page, tick the “I agree” checkboxes and hit “Done” to finish the setup wizard.
We have successfully reached the V40/V50 Thinq home screen thus bypassing the lock screen.
