On LG K40 we can get notified for a missed call, text message, voicemail, email, and other apps. The notification alert is received in the form of sound, voice, led light, and via flashlight.
If the phone screen is off, you get to know a message or mail has arrived with the led light or flashlight.
We can also enable the setting to view notifications on the lock screen itself.

LG K30 & K40 Notifications – lmx410 / lmx420
1. LG K40 /K30 Text message & Missed Call Notification
The above screenshot shows the text message notification on the lock screen and in the notification panel respectively.
The notifications keep on accumulating in the notification panel until you view or clear them.
There can be a multitude of reasons to delete an app on LG K30 & K40.
You may have downloaded an app from the play store and don’t like it. There’s another app that is more functional. You rarely use the downloaded app. You want to free up internal storage space. Abnormal app behavior.
Whatever may be the reason, follow the below screenshots to remove an app temporarily or permanently.
How to remove/delete/uninstall apps from LG K40 & K30
LG K40 Delete Apps – Temporary Deletion
You can only delete the downloaded apps.
The preinstalled apps and other system apps cannot be deleted.
We have to long-press and app and drag it to the top.
As amazon assistant is a pre-installed app, it cannot be deleted.
I do not get the delete option on the top.
Now let’s try to uninstall a downloaded app “Video Merge”.
Long-press the app icon and drag it towards the ” Delete” option on the top.
Drag and place the app icon on “delete”.
A confirmation pop-up appears on the screen.
Tap ” DELETE” to uninstall this app.
LG K40 App Trash / Restore Deleted Apps
After deleting the app we are on the App trash screen. Hit “APP TRASH” as shown above.
The app we deleted from the home screen is moved to the “APP TRASH” folder.
If within 24 hours your mind changes, you can restore this deleted app.
The Video merge app can be seen in this folder. Hit restore to get back this app.
You can see the Video Merge app is restored back.
LG K40 Delete Apps – Permanent Deletion
Let’s delete this app once again by dragging it towards the top and place it on the Delete option.
To remove the app permanently, we have to empty the app trash folder.
Hit the “Delete” icon on the top right corner.
Approve the request to permanently delete this app.
To access the app trash folder anytime, Long-press an empty space on the home screen and select “App trash” as shown above.
There is one more way to permanently delete an app on LG K30/K40.
Open Settings > General > Apps and notifications.
Select the first option i.e. App info.
Now, we can see all the apps in one place. It includes the system apps as well as the downloaded apps.
Let’s try to delete AcDisplay, which is the first app on the list.
We are on the App info page of AcDisplay.
Tap the “Uninstall” option as shown above.
Hit “OK” to confirm your action.
The AcDisplay app is deleted.
Using the same method we have to uninstall apps in safe mode.
Is your K30/K40 is acting abnormally such as freezing, overheating, lagging, etc? A downloaded app may be responsible for this behavior. If your phone is working fine in safe mode, we have to detect the bad app by trial and error method.

As we keep on using apps on our LG K30 & K40, the app cache keeps on accumulating. This can eat up your precious internal storage space. We should keep clearing the cached data from time to time. This can aid in speeding up the phone and also save you from the “storage space running out” error.
In the earlier versions of android, the recovery mode had an option to wipe the cache partition. It’s removed since Android Nougat 7.0. Now we have to clear the cached data via Settings.
How to Clear Cache on LG K40 & K30
We can clear the cache memory of an individual app or all apps at once. Let’s see how to do this on K30 & K40.
LG K40 / K30 Wipe Cache Partition
On your LG K30 / K40 open “Settings” as shown above.
Choose the “General” tab and select “Storage”.
We are now on the “Internal Storage” screen.
Select the first option i.e. “Free up space”.
It gives various options to free up space. The 3 options are –
Temporary files, Download folder & Idle apps.
The cached data is stored in the temporary files folder. The downloaded files are stored in the download folder. The idle apps are those apps which are unused for a long time.
Tap “Temporary files” to clear the cached data.
On the “Temporary files” page we have 2 options –
Cached data & Clip Tray temporary files. I’m deleting only “Cached data”.
Tap “DELETE” at the bottom-right to wipe the cache partition.
You can see the cached data is cleared. Its current size is zero bytes.
LG K40 & K30 Smart Cleaning
There is one more method to clear the cached data on LG K30 & K40.
We can use the Smart Cleaning tool to do the same.
Open Settings > General > Smart Cleaning.
Smart Cleaning can free up space by deleting unnecessary files and stop unused apps to free up the RAM.
Tap “Optimize phone” to initiate the process. Wait for a while.
Now it says “Optimized”. We have cleared the cached data.
LG K30 & K40 Clear App Cache
We can also clear the cache of individual apps –
Once again Open Settings > General > Apps & notifications.
Select the first option “App info”.
Choose the app whose cache data you wish to clear.
Let’s open the “Amazon Assistant” app.
Hit “Storage” & then “Clear cache” to do the needful.
The cached data of the Amazon Assistant app is now cleared. The current cache size is 0 bytes.
