Is the LG K20 Plus Waterproof, Qi Enabled, MHL Compatible ?

Many users have a query regarding the features which are present and those missing from LG K20/ K20 v & K20 Plus.

Is the LG K20 Plus Waterproof?

LG K20 Plus is not waterproof or water-resistant. It even doesn’t have a splash-resistant design.

Water Proof & Water Resistant phones are usually unibody and all the external ports have a flap to cover them. In contrast, K20 Plus has a removable battery door and all ports are exposed without any sort of covering. Thus, this kind of arrangement makes it prone to water damage.

Is the LG K20 Plus Qi-Enabled / Qi Compatible?

LG K20 Plus lacks wireless charging. You can have wireless charging on K20 Plus using a 3rd party wireless charger. The wireless charging kit contains a wireless charging pad and a receiver based on the USB-Port Type. LG K20 & K20 Plus have Type-A micro USB Port. So, keep this in mind while buying the wireless charging kit for LG K20 Plus.

Is the LG K20 MHL Compatible?

Does LG K20 Plus have NFC, IR Blaster, Wireless Charging, MHL Support, etc ?

In this post, were going to clear the doubts regarding features present in LG K20 Plus. Let’s find what it does have and what it lacks.

Does LG K20 Plus have NFC?

NFC is missing from LG K20 & K20 Plus. But 2 generations later i.e in LG K40 NFC is present.

I checked it by installing a 3rd party app and it says “NFC is unsupported”.

To make sure, I even searched NFC in the settings and failed to find it.

NFC is getting more and more popular. Very soon it’ll be offered even in entry-level smartphones.

Does LG K20 Plus have Screen Mirroring?

There is no option to Cast a screen on LG K20 or K20 Plus. So, other than Chromecast if you’re trying to mirror your phone to a TV it won’t work.

However, this issue can be rectified by flashing a Lineage OS custom ROM on K20. As its a stock Google ROM it has the CAST option similar to Motorola phones.

Using this option we can easily mirror our K20 screen to the TV using ROKU, Microsoft’s Wireless Display Adapter, Amazon Fire Stick, etc.

Does the LG K20 have Screen Mirroring?

Yes, LG K20 Plus does have screen mirroring support but to get the “Cast” option we need to install Lineage OS Custom ROM on our K20 Plus.

Chromecast can be used with LG K20 Plus stock android using the Google Home app.

To do Screen Mirroring on TV via Amazon Fire TV Stick, Roku Wireless Adapter & Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter we need the Cast Option which comes with a Lineage OS Custom ROM.
