How to bypass Google lock on LG K51 Android 11 FRP remove 2022

As LG has closed down its cellphone business, there are quite a few LG phones that are updated to Android 11. K51 is one of them.

NOTE: Only LG K51 MetroPCS & T-Mobile variants are updated to Android 11. The rest of the K51 devices from Boost Mobile, Verizon, Spectrum Mobile, and Xfinity Mobile are still running on Android 10. On these, you can use the old FRP bypass method as follows –

LG K51 Google FRP Bypass Android 10 2022

After this new software update, the old FRP bypass exploit is fixed. Now, we need a new method to get past the Google lock on LG K51 in 2022.

The Google verification screen shows up when you hard reset the phone using the volume down + power keys via the Recovery Mode. Once the reset is complete, you need to go through the setup wizard. To complete the device setup we either need the lock screen credentials or the previously synced Google account.

Let’s use the latest 2022 hack to bypass the FRP lock & reach the LG K51 home screen –

I was locked out on my LG K51. I forgot the lock screen password. The only option left was a hard reset using the volume down + power buttons.

After the reset via recovery mode, I landed on the welcome screen of the setup wizard.

Let’s tap the forward arrow to begin the device setup.

To proceed further we need to connect our K51 to a Wifi network.

The phone is connected to the internet & it’s getting ready. Let’s wait for a while.

The next screen is “Copy apps & data”. Let’s choose “Don’t copy” to move ahead.

Now, it brings me to the screen lock verification page. To get past this screen we either need the lock screen password or the previously synced Google account.

I don’t have either of the two.

Let’s use the latest 2022 hack to bypass the google account and reach the LG K51 home screen as follows –

The below video shows how to bypass the FRP lock on LG K51 Android 11 –

At the end of the video, you’ll notice that after doing the FRP bypass and reaching the LG K51 home screen, the phone resets automatically with the error – Factory reset is proceeded by server policy

The phone goes through a hard reset and brings me to the “Welcome” screen of the setup wizard. So we are back to square one.

This issue occurs on all the LG Android 11 devices such as LG V60, Velvet, G8x, etc.

The only solution to this problem is a firmware downgrade. We need to downgrade the LG K51 software from Android 11 to Android 10 & then follow the old K51 Android 10 FRP bypass tutorial to reach the home screen –

LG K51 Firmware Downgrade Android 11 to Android 10

To flash the LG K51 Android 10 firmware we need to download the below files. Save the files on your computer.

1. LG K51 Mobile Driver v4.5

DOWNLOAD

2. LGUP Lab Frame Ver 1.16

DOWNLOAD

3. LG K51 DLL File v2.3

DOWNLOAD

4. LG K51 Android 10 MetroPCS ROM K500MM10r_00_MPCS_US_OP_0902.kdz

DOWNLOAD

5. LG K51 Android 10 T-Mobile ROM K500UM10r_00_TMO_US_OP_0902.kdz

DOWNLOAD

NOTE: Download the correct K51 firmware file based on your carrier – MetroPCS lmk500mm or T-Mobile lmk500um

First of all, we need to install the LG Mobile Driver setup file. No need to install it if it’s already installed on your computer.

Double-click the setup file as shown above.

Complete the driver installation by following the on-screen prompts.

To install the LG K51 Android 10 firmware, we need to put our phone into Download Mode  –

  • Power off your LG K51 using the power button.

  • Get a USB Type-C data cable.
  • Connect one end of the cable to the PC.
  • Press & hold the volume up button on your LG K51. Keep it pressed and insert the other end of the USB cable.
  • Your K51 must be now on the “Firmware Update” screen as shown below.

  • The firmware update page is nothing but LG K51 Download Mode.

Now, wait for the LGE Mobile USB Serial Port & LGE Mobile USB Modem drivers to install. You can find it under Ports & Modems in the Device Manager on your PC.

After the driver installation,  install the LGUP software.

Double-click the setup file “LGUP_Lab_Frame_Ver_1_16” to begin the installation.

Install the LGUP software but don’t run it yet.

After the installation of LGUP, we need to replace a DLL file LGUP_common.dll

Copy this file and replace it with the same file in the LGUP common folder. You can refer to the above screenshot.

Now, open the disk drive where you’ve installed LGUP. I’ve installed it in “Local Disk (C:)”.

Double-click the “Program Files (x86)” folder to open it.

Now, launch the “LG Electronics” folder.

The LGUP folder is located in the LG Electronics folder. Click on it to open.

Now, open the “model” folder.

Finally, open the “common” folder to paste the copied DLL file.

Paste the copied LGUP_common.dll file in the common folder as shown above.

Choose “Replace the file in the destination” when prompted.

Now, click “Continue” to give the administrator access to replace this file.

We are now ready to launch the LGUP flash tool.

In LGUP the connected phone is visible as LM-K500MM. This is the model number of LG K51 MetroPCS.

Tap under “File Path” and click the “3 dots” icon to browse for the LG K51 Android 10 kdz firmware file.

Load the correct firmware file for flashing.

Warning: Do not flash this firmware file on other LG K51 variants or you may brick your device. The kdz files belong to LG K51 T-Mobile with the model number lmk500um & K51 MetroPCS with the model number lmk500mm

Make sure you’ve loaded the correct firmware file in LGUP based on your model number & carrier. Mine is K51 MetroPCS with the model number lm-k500mm

Now, hit “Start” to begin flashing.

Do not disturb the phone and PC until the process is complete.

The progress bar is visible on the LGUP screen.

The phone reboots when the progress bar reaches 80%.

The flashing process is now 100% complete.

We have successfully downgraded the LG K51 firmware from Android 11 to Android 10.

Now, follow the old LG K51 Android 10 FRP bypass tutorial to reach the K51 home screen.
